Solo quería escribirles algunas palabras para desearles un
Feliz Año Nuevo!

Para mi el 2011 fue un año muy importante y de mucho
aprendizaje.

El año comenzó gracias a Dios con mucho trabajo. Filmamos el
video de We Were Young, la campaña de Old Navy, el especial de TV Latinos R One
y uno de los momentos mas importantes de mi carrera, el Primera Fila con Franco
DeVita.

Todo pintaba para que el año fuera uno muy activo, pero el 4
de Febrero hubo un cambio de ritmo. Tuve un accidente con un vidrio y me corte
seriamente el dedo gordo de la mano derecha. Por 3 meses no pude tocar ni
piano, ni guitarra y mucho menos hacer yoga o surfear, todo lo que mas me gusta
hacer.  Pocos dias despues mi
abuelito se nos fue. Fueron momentos dificles, pero fue tambien entonces cuando
comencé a escribir de nuevo. Llevaba mucho tiempo sin escribir. Desde que
terminé “Luna Nueva” en el 2009 no habia escrito ni media estrofa. Por ahi de
Marzo me vino a la cabeza una canción que se llama “Pajarito” y fue esta
canción la que abrió la puerta para que una casacada de melodías, pensamientos,
sentimientos, ideas empezaran a salir sin parar. (pronto podrán escucharla!)
Encontré de nuevo mi voz.

Hasta Junio la pasé en casa recuperandome del accidente,
meditando y re-descubriendome. Fueron tiempos de poca actividad pero de mucha
escritura.

El 22 de Junio, fecha del solsticio de verano, tuve mi
primer show despues del accidente y el primero de como 33 shows que le
seguirian hasta Diciembre.

De Julio a Diciembre fui una gitana feliz. Le abrí a Camila
en un par de shows, viajé con un mini-tour de Roxy y me uni al tour Mira Mas
alla de Franco DeVita. La experiencia de viajar a nuevos lugares y compartir mi
música en escenarios fue de lo mejor que me ha pasado. A todos los que
escucharon y a todos los que conoci en el camino, GRACIAS por el cariño y la
energía que me dieron.

El año termina en casa, rodeada de la gente que más amo,
sintiendome agradecida con la vida por todo lo que me dio este año y lista para
lo que viene: el reto de un segundo disco.

Dicen que el 2012 es el año de cambios de orden cósmico, si
es asi entonces es el año perfecto para transformar todo lo negativo en
postivo, ver los momentos dificiles como oportunidades para crecer y cambiar el
miedo por el amor.

Que este sea un EXCELENTE año para tod@s!

Just a few words to wish all of you a Happy New Year!

2011 was a very important year for me and one that taught me
many valuable lessons. It started with a lot of work. We shot a video for “We
Were Young”, a super fun campaign for Old Navy, a TV special called Latinos R
one and one of the most important moments of my career so far, the Primera Fila
with Franco DeVita

It all looked like 2011 would a very very busy year but on
February 4^th a bad accident in the shower left me unable to use my
right thumb and for 3 months I couldn’t play an instrument, do yoga or surf,
everything that I love to do the most. Days later my grandpa passed away. It
was a very difficult time for me but it was also through those hard and scary
moments that I started writing again. 
One day, a new song in my head called “Pajarito” started a cascade of
ideas, words, phrases, thoughts, and feelings that were within me in desperate
need to come out. I have no doubts that the tougher times are the ones that
will teach you the most. In this case it taught me to listen to my voice again.
For so long I had been listening to other people’s voices…

And so March, April, May and June were months of
self-discovery, healing, meditation, a lot of quiet moments and a lot of new
songs. It was a time of deep realizations of past present and future and also a
good time to prepare for what was coming in the second half of the year.

The summer started on June 22^nd, summer solstice,
the first show since my accident and the first of about 33 shows that would
follow.

From July until December I performed in many new places and
in my beloved Costa Rica; opened for Camila, played a mini Roxy tour and joined
Franco DeVita on his Latin America Mira Mas Alla Tour. It was by far some of
the best times of my life and I am beyond grateful to all the audiences and
people I met in each city for being so wonderful and loving. WE ARE ONE!

The year ends at home, surrounded by the people I love the
most. Feeling grateful and ready for what’s coming, in the face of big big
changes with a whole new batch of songs, a second album to record and so much
to give.

They say this is a year of cosmic changes. If that’s the
case then let’s shift the negative into positive, the uncomfortable into lessons
to be learned, and fear into love.

May we all kick ass in 2012 :)

8 female songwriters “locked” in a house/studio in Malibu
with only one purpose: to write good songs. Ahhhh… last week was amazing. I
laughed til it hurt, cried, made new wonderful friends and wrote my ass off.
The “Women without Borders” Song Camp organized by ASCAP was by far one of the
most creative and fun experiences of my life. It’s not everyday that I get to
write a country/reggae vibe, a dance song, a Latin pop song, a soul ballad and
a vallenato all in less than 72 hours!!!Best of all, it’s not everyday that I get to write with such talented
and beautiful women. The energy was so vibrant, and I have no doubt that what
was produced in that magical space will reach a lot of ears. Thank you ASCAP
and Claudia Brant for the invitation, and thank you to Lena, Carolyn Dawn
Johnson, Deanna Carter, Jonatha Brooke, Natalia LaFourcade and Ericka Nuri for
inspiring me with your music. You girls ROCK! (and a big thank you to Jeeve for
translating all the ideas into sound, and to Woodshed- my FAV studio)

8 mujeres compositoras “atrapadas” en una casa/estudio en
Malibu con un solo propósito: escribir buenas canciones. Qué bien la pasé la
semana pasada!!! Me rei hasta que dolió, lloré, hicé nuevas amig@s y escribí
hasta morir.  El Song Camp “Mujeres
sin Fronteras” organizado por ASCAP fue una de las experiencias mas creativas y
divertidas por las que he pasado. No es todos los dias que tengo la oportunidad
de escribir una cancion reggae/country, una dance, una pop, una balada soul y
un vallenato en menos de 72 horas!!! Mejor aún, no es todos los dias que tengo
la dicha de colaborar con mujeres tan lindas y talentosas. No tengo duda que lo
que fue creado en ese espacio mágico va a ser escuchado por muchos. Gracias
ASCAP y mi querida Claudia Brant por la invitación y gracias a Lena, Carolyn
Dawn Johnson, Deanna Carter, Jonatha Brooke, Natalia LaFourcade y Ericka Nuri
por inspirarme con su música. You girls ROCK! (muchas gracias tambien a Jeeve
por darle sonido a nuestras ideas y a Woodshed- sin duda el mejor estudio)

El Tiempo Vuela.

Especialmente cuando uno vuela con él. Los ultimos dos meses
han sido intensos, de mucho viajar, muchos conciertos y mucho volar, pero
ironicamente, es asi en vuelo como me siento mas en casa.  Recorrer nuevos caminos, tocar en
nuevos escenarios frente a publicos lindos y conocer y trabajar con gente
talentosa, me han recargado de energia creativa y me han dado la certeza de que
hacer y compartir musica es mi camino. Las presentaciones en Mexico abriendole
a Camila fueron increibles. Estar sola en un escenario con mi piano y guitarra
en frente de 15mil personas fue una sensacion que nunca habia sentido antes.
Talvez volar se siente algo parecido! Tambien tuve la oportunidad de tocar un
concierto privado en la competencia de Surf de Quiksilver en Puerto Escondido.
La vibra del lugar era potente, mucha juventud de todas partes del mundo, un
paisaje espectacular, agua cristalina y olas perfectas.

Despues de Mexico me uni al equipo de Franco Devita para
comenzar su nueva gira. (estare posteando pronto aqui en mi pagina en cuales
otras fechas de la gira estaré participando) Empezamos en Guatemala y luego
Costa Rica. Los dos conciertos estuvieron muy emocionantes, aunque tocar en
casa, en medio de amigos y familiares fue super especial y se quedara conmigo
siempre.

De todo corazón les agradezco por todos los lindos mensajes
que he recibido en mis paginas de twitter y facebook. Es su apoyo y cariño el
que me impulsan diariamente a seguir creciendo y luchando por llevarles mi
musica a cada rincon. 

Que vivamos en eterno vuelo con pies en la Tierra.

Time flies.

Specially when it feels like you’re flying with it. The last
few months have been incredibly intense. Lots of traveling, lots of playing,
lots of flying. I can’t imagine being more at home than when I’m on the road.
The experience of being on stage in new places in front of beautiful audiences,
served as a massive recharge of creative fuel and once again a reminder that
making and sharing music is definitely what I need to be doing. The shows in
Mexico opening for Camila were amazing. Stepping on stage by myself with my
piano and guitar playing in front of 15000 people each night is a feeling
unlike any other I’ve ever felt. Maybe flying feels somewhat similar. I also
got to perform at a Quiksilver surf competition in Puerto Escondido which was
so much fun, plus surfing with turtles in the clear blue Mexican pacific ocean
did not suck at all.

A week after Mexico I started the tour with Franco Devita of
which I’ll be posting the definite dates as soon as they are confirmed. We
played Guatemala and Costa Rica, both equally exciting, although playing in my
hometown among family and friends was very special and a night I won’t ever
forget.

I am eternally grateful for all the beautiful messages I
receive on my facebook and twitter pages. It is thanks to your love and support
that I find the strength and will to continue fighting the fight to get my
music closer to all of you.

May we all live our lifes in eternal flight with our feet on
the ground.

Next stop Los Angeles.

Hola Tod@s!
I must admit that it’s been way too long without updating my
blog. I’ve had quite the ride since I last wrote on here. On Februay 4^th
I had a small accident with a glass door and severed the tendon of my right
thumb.  Thankfully after a surgery
and 12 weeks of rehab my thumb is functioning and making music once again. It
will never be the same thumb it was, and although it sounds crazy, I will never
be the same I was either. And that’s life; with each step we take we create a new
beginning, a new road, and along the way we continue changing and evolving.
Nothing is permanent. I learned so many lessons while handicapped at home but
perhaps the most important one was the lesson of appreciating everything I
have, every single part of my body, every little cel. I learned gratefulness
and humility. Also, something really strange and cool started to happen, at
about the 4^th or 5^th week of recovery I started writing
like never before. Songs were pouring out of me, sometimes one or two a day.
Last week I recorded 6 of the new ideas with just guitar and voice. I hope to
soon start ‘dressing’ them with more instruments- one of my favorite processes.

Other news is that my new video for “We Were Young” is
finally coming out this month, as well as the DVD of Franco Devita’s Primera
Fila in which I perform with him his song “Si quieres decir Adios”. I’ll keep
you posted on both releases.

Hope you are having a beautiful Mother’s Day Sunday, much

Admito que ha pasado demasiado tiempo sin saludarlos por
aqui. La vida a uno le da sorpresas y a mi me dio una el 4 de Febrero cuando
tuve un pequeño accidente con una puerta de vidrio. Despues de una operacion y
12 semanas de terapia, mi dedo pulgar derecho finalmente esta funcionando casi
igual que antes. Nunca sera el mismo dedo y por ende yo nunca sere la misma que
fui. Pero asi es la vida, con cada paso nos hacemos un camino nuevo, cambiamos,
evolucionamos. Para mi, pasar por una incapacidad, que gracias a Dios fue leve,
me hizo abrir los ojos a muchas cosas que de otro modo no hubiera visto. Cuando
uno pasa por estas cosas se hace evidente lo fragil que es la vida y cuan
agradecida debo estar cada dia por estar aqui y tener todo lo que tengo.  Aunque pasé por momentos dificiles,
algo increible del proceso fue que por ahi de la semana 4 o 5 de la
recuperacion comence a escribir como nunca antes. Se me venian una a veces dos
canciones por dia. Hace una semana comence grabando 6 de ellas a guitarra y voz
y espero pronto empezar a ‘verstirlas’ con otros instrumentos –uno de mis
procesos favoritos.

Por otro lado, les cuento que por FIN el video de We Were
Young ya esta listo para ser lanzado este mes, al igual del DVD de Primera fila
con Franco Devita en el que canto y toco a duo con el su cancion “Si quieres
decir Adios”. MUY emocionada de las dos cosas!!!! Los mantengo al tanto de
cuando exactamente.

Espero que esten pasando un lindo Domingo, en muchos paises
Dia de las Madres. Asi que mucho amor a todas las Mamás y Feliz Dia!

Hola Tod@s!

Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la última vez que escribí por
aquí… asi que tengo mucho que compartir con ustedes! El año comenzó, gracias a
Dios, con mucho trabajo, Enero fue un mes lleno de aprendizaje e intensas
emociones. El primero de Enero, comenzamos a filmar de manera muy casera e improvisada
un video para We Were Young. Todavia no les puedo decir mucho al respecto
porque las piezas del rompecabeza se estan aun armando pero espero poder
terminarlo pronto y mostrarselos. Fue muy rico experimentar sin presión con una
cámara, una guitarra y no mucho mas. 
Vamos a ver que sale.. todavia no estoy muy segura jaja Un par de dias
despues comenzamos con la filmacion del video para Ashes and Pearls y éste,
bueno…. desgraciadamente no pudimos terminarlo. Los dos dias que teníamos
programados para la filmación fueron exactamente en los dias que hubo un frente
frio y en la locacion que se habia escojido fue imposible filmar. Tengo fe que
vamos a poder encontrar el momento y el financiamento para poder terminarlo en
un futuro pero por ahora me quedo solamente con el recuerdo de la
experiencia y con muchas lecciones aprendidas. Mientras el frente frio se
disipaba yo me preparaba para viajar a Miami a participar en lo que fue talvez uno de los
momentos mas importantes en mi carrera hasta el momento. Fui invitada a tocar un dueto con
Franco Devita en su grabacion del concierto para DVD Primera Fila. El proceso
fue muy emocionante y gratificante y le agradeceré siempre a Franco por la
oportunidad y por compatir una de sus canciones conmigo.  Después de solo un ensayo y una corta
prueba de sonido, cantamos una de sus clásicas “Si quieres decir adios” en
frente de un lindo público y camaras por todos lados. Les aviso apenas sale el DVD.. yo me muero por ver como quedó!

Al terminar el concierto atravesé el pais hacia Los Angeles
y al dia siguiente empece a trabajar en una campaña muy divertida para Old Navy
con el reconocido director Joseph Kahn. No quiero contarles mucho de lo que va
a ser el comercial para que sea una sorpresa, pero apenas salga al aire les
cuento con detalle como fue todo el proceso.

Una vez terminado Old Navy y
despues de 2 vuelos cancelados por nieve, atravesé el pais nuevamente, esta vez
a Nueva York. Por todos los atrasos, apenas llegué, tuve que “ponerle” jaja A
las 4pm aterricé y a las 5:30 ya estaba en el estudio trabajando con un talentoso
grupo de artistas.. La meta era escribir y grabar una cancion, proceso que fue
documentado para una serie en internet que se llama Latinos R one. Tambien les
contaré mas al respecto apenas se publique, que espero será como para eso de
Marzo. A las 4am ya teníamos la cancion lista! Fue una locura... pero de las
buenas :)

Hoy es mi primer dia libre despues de mucho tiempo y estoy
donde mi hermana viendo la nieve y “babysitting” a mis sobrinos.., felicidad
absoluta!

Hola Tod@s! 
It’s been a long time… so much to write
about, so much to tell you! January has been an explosive month with lots of
surprises, lessons and wonderful experiences, and thankfully, a LOT of work!

The year started with an improvised-homemade video shoot for
We Were Young.. I really can’t tell you much about it at this point except that
I can’t wait to finish it and show it to you all. Then it was straight into the
Ashes & Pearls video shoot, and this one well… we had to cancel mid-way
because of a cold front that made shooting anything outdoors impossible.
Despite the crazy storm, the experience was a good one and I still have hope that
we’ll find the time and financial support to make it happen in the future.  You can’t fight the flow and Mother
Nature always has the last word so we must listen to her. I will keep you
posted!

Right after emerging from the Ashes (& Pearls) I traveled to Miami
to prepare for possibly one of the most important and exciting moments in my
career so far. I was invited to perform a duet with Franco Devita as part of his
upcoming live DvD concert Primera Fila. The whole experience was so
exhilarating and rewarding and I cannot wait to hear and watch how it came out.
After only one rehearsal and a short sound check, we performed one of his
classics called “Si quieres decir Adios” in front of a lovely crowd and
cameras. I’m grateful beyond words for this opportunity, and I will forever thank
Franco for sharing one of his songs with me. Bye bye Miami.

Hello Los Angeles and hello Old Navy. Landed at midnight and
12 hrs later I was already in pre-production for a super fun Old Navy campaign
directed by director extraordinaire Joseph Kahn. I don’t wanna spoil what the
commercial is going to be but as soon as is out I promise I’ll post it on here
and tell you all about the process.

Once that was a wrap and after a few
canceled flights because of a massive snow storm, it was straight to NYC. Landed
yesterday at 4pm straight to the studio to write and record a song alongside 2
really talented Latin artists, Velcro and Navegante, and amazing producer
Andres Levine. The process was documented for an internet series called Latinos
R one. Also don’t wanna spoil it but will be posting it soon. Today is my first
day off in a while and I’m at my sisters watching the snow and babysitting,
complete bliss.
